About Us - The Team
Francis and Nagore are two of Buckinghamshire’s hottest and most creative salsa talents (instructors, performers and choreographers) based in the Milton Keynes area. Growing up in Nigeria and Spain respectively, they have had various artistic backgrounds spanning Hip-Hop and Street dance, to rhythmic gymnastics and Francis has appeared in a couple of local music videos as a backing dancer. They have been dancing and performing as a duo since 2004 when they came together as Almas Latinas for a one off performance at a talent variety event in Spain. They have since performed at various high profile regular salsa events around the UK including Mambocity’s Salsa Splash, SOS’s Stars of Salsa Weekender and Latinmotion’s Midlands Salsa Special to name a few. They have continuously gained an increasing reputation as a very versatile couple whose abilities range from LA, Cuban, and New York style salsa to Street Dance, Reggaeton, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha.
As instructors, they are very experienced having been teaching regularly for over 5 years and are renowned for their particularly engaging, challenging but fun teaching style, as well as the infamous ‘Francis line-up‘ where just about anything is possible... If you haven’t encountered this... then you have been missing out.
They are also co-founders and co-directors of a salsa night in Milton Keynes under the banner SEAL Dance Academy where they run regular salsa classes On1 as well as periodic development and specialist courses covering Musicality, Spinning Techniques, Styling, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, On2.
Francis was born and raised in Nigeria and has been dancing for as long as he can remember.
Originally from a hiphop/street dance background, Francis appeared in and co-choreographed various dance shows at University. He also joined the student cast of 42nd Street in his final year at Southampton University where he had his first real taste of musical theatre.
A few years ago, Francis was part of the Milton Keynes Dance Centre - over 18's Street Dance Team who reached and won the nationals free style dancing championship for two successive years. He has also appeared as a backing dancer in a few music videos for local RnB acts like Rolow.
Although street dance has been in his blood since he was young, his passion has pushed him into other type of dances, like salsa, where he was immediately captivated by the dynamic dance style which he has continued to enjoy and improve on ever since, infusing it with his natural flare for street dance movement.
Nagore came to dancing a little later through rhythmic gymnastics which she did in her hometown in spain till the age of 20.
As her experience grew, the gymnastics gave her the opportunity to teach and choreograph younger groups before and during her university life.
It was during this period that she had the chance to learn basic ballroom dancing and when she moved to England after University, her focus became quickly drawn to salsa which she started doing regularly in Peterborough before moving to Milton Keynes.
She has a strong passion for dancing and that passion translates quite seemlessly to her teaching, where she imparts her knowledge clearly and confidently while making her classes as fun as they can be.
